Dear Tiger Academy Families,
I am writing today to share both encouraging news about our school’s progress and an important update about our future.
First, we are proud to share that recent state assessment results show record academic gains across multiple areas at YMCA Tiger Academy—important progress representing meaningful growth in student achievement. It is a testament to the dedication happening in classrooms every day, along with the ongoing support of our families. The official school grade will be released publicly by the state in June.
This momentum positions Tiger Academy at a pivotal moment—one where we can build on this progress and continue raising the bar for what our scholars can achieve. With that in mind, the Board of Directors has appointed Simaran Bakshi as the next Chief Executive Officer of YMCA Tiger Academy. Simaran is a highly experienced education leader with more than 20 years of success improving student outcomes and leading schools to sustained academic excellence.
Simaran’s focus is on ensuring every child is challenged academically, supported as an individual, and developed as a leader. Under her leadership, Tiger Academy will continue building on the strong progress we are seeing now, while strengthening the systems and supports that help students succeed year after year.
YMCA Tiger Academy will be the structured and operated to ensure we are fully aligned around delivering the highest-quality educational experience for every student. Throughout this process, our commitment remains the same: providing a safe, supportive, and high-performing school where your child can thrive.
We know you likely have questions so we invite all families to attend one of our upcoming Open House events in June, where you will have the opportunity to:
• Meet the school’s new principal
• Connect with your child’s teachers for the upcoming school year
• Learn more about plans for the year ahead
Since our founding, YMCA Tiger Academy has been rooted in the YMCA’s core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility. Those values will remain central as we continue to grow and improve.
